Acne, What is it ?

Acne is a dermatitis that is due to the inflammation of the pilosebaceous follicles at the root of our hair, which is characterised by the appearance of skin blemishes.

The sebaceous glands produce a sebum that plays a role in preventing the skin from becoming dry. But in too large a quantity, this sebum runs along the surface of the skin making it greasier. It obstructs the follicle which becomes inflamed, making the terrain suitable for the proliferation of a bacteria called Propionibacterium acnes.
